At Odot, we help organizations take control of these issues. As Energy Accountants, we combine energy expertise, data, and technology to support our clients with energy contracts, cost management, optimization, and strategic energy issues.
About Your Role
As an Energy Management Consultant, you translate complex energy issues into clear analyses and practical advice.
You work with medium-sized and large companies, supporting them in areas such as energy procurement, energy contracts, pricing strategies, energy costs, flexibility, renewable energy, and new energy solutions.
You'll work closely with our Business Developers, our operational teams, and the team behind our energy platform, NCTRL.energy.
What are you going to do?
Energy and Market Consulting:
- You monitor the Belgian and European electricity and gas markets and translate market developments into concrete recommendations for our clients.
- You analyze energy prices, contract structures, indexations, price spikes, and procurement strategies.
- You develop and refine hedging and procurement strategies and assist clients in making decisions about locking in energy prices.
- You provide advice on new developments such as PPAs, energy sharing, flexibility, batteries, and other energy assets.
Analysis & Optimization:
- You analyze consumption, market, and cost data and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Among other things, you will analyze energy profiles, peak power, contract costs, and market prices.
- You translate data into clear conclusions, business cases, and recommendations.
- You help customers understand their current and future energy costs.
Consulting & Customer Advice:
- You will assist clients with strategic and complex energy issues.
- You present analyses and recommendations to operational, financial, and executive-level personnel.
- You'll serve as a subject-matter expert during client meetings.
- You not only help clients develop a strategy, but also assist them in its practical implementation.
Procurement & Commercial Support:
- You will support the Business Development team with complex proposals and customer inquiries.
- You will participate in public and private tenders.
- You analyze energy contracts and quotes from suppliers.
- You will provide support during negotiations and in structuring, among other things, electricity and gas contracts and PPAs.
Expertise & Innovation:
- You keep track of changes in energy markets, regulations, and technology.
- You share your expertise with colleagues and help further organize knowledge within Odot.
- You'll contribute ideas on new services, analytical methods, and consulting products.
- You will work with the NCTRL team to continue integrating expertise, analyses, and decision-making logic into our digital platform.
Your Profile
Above all, we are looking for someone who can combine energy and enthusiasm with analytical skills and strong communication abilities.
We are looking for someone who understands complex issues, can think critically about them, and can translate them into decisions for clients.
We're looking for someone who:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in, for example, economics, industrial engineering, engineering sciences, energy, finance, or a related field;
- Experience in the energy, consulting, trading, procurement, utilities, or another analytical business environment;
- Has strong analytical skills and is adept at working with numbers, data, and complex contractual or financial structures;
- Wants to understand and keep track of energy prices and market mechanisms;
- Can conduct analyses independently and is confident in drawing conclusions;
- Can clearly explain complex topics to customers.
- Takes responsibility for cases and works in a results-oriented manner;
- Enjoys working with colleagues in sales, operations, and technical roles;
- Is curious and wants to continually learn more about the evolving energy market.
For an Energy Management Consultant, we also expect you to have relevant experience in the energy sector and to be able to independently manage complex client projects, market analyses, and energy procurement strategies.
A good command of Dutch, French, and English is required.
